Established in 1997 as a privately-owned interior fit-out company, APSS began operating predominately in the commercial, industrial and retail sectors with projects including office fit-outs, mezzanine flooring, glass partitions, racking and storage solutions. Since its set up; APSS has grown in all aspects of its business activities – from a modest workforce, APSS now employees a workforce of 48, including designers, sales, development, accounts, marketing, fitters, site managers and a highly-skilled in-house joinery department. APSS has since moved into other areas of construction, including exterior work for all types of premises and highly bespoke residential joinery. This growth has been facilitated by heavy investment in machinery and steps taken to streamline the businesses’ operations. Recently APSS has moved offices following the need to expand said business operations, still based in Lincoln, APSS have invested £422,000 in the new premises. APSS strives to “Think ahead, get it done on time, stay cost-effective and efficient – and communicate with clarity.” In alignment with the APSS values and deeply-rooted ethos shared by all of its employees, integrity and transparency are reinforced throughout. We endeavour to work to the clients’ needs, our clients are not just a number, but rather, an opportunity to improve their working or living environments.
After being shortlisted alongside three other fantastic Lincolnshire-based businesses; Greenray Energy Solutions Ltd, Turbine Efficiency Group and Internet Fusion, APSS took the top prize. Judges said: “This was a stand-out application within a strong set of submissions.” Criteria for the award was specifically based on areas of growth, retained profits, business development and innovation, and of course, the businesses’ influence on the fantastic county that is Lincolnshire. This significant accolade is a testament to APSS’ continual hard work, drive to deliver and desire to offer the best service to our clients whilst simultaneously innovating and improving.
The night itself was a huge success, the awards ceremony and dinner based in the Epic Centre at the Lincolnshire Showground; approximately 400 people were in attendance, from businesses’ spanning the county. There was a selection of awards including; Exporter of the Year, Business Person of the Year and Start-up Business of the Year. The room was full of excitement, dedication and nerves, a varied amalgamation of talent, ambition and raw will-power that make up the vast selection of nominees. Siemens said: “The event showed the creativity and excellence on offer in Lincolnshire” and continued to ensure guests to shout loudly and proudly of their company’s success… and that is what we want to do!
Managing Director, Darren Crookes, jumped for joy as APSS was announced as the winners of the Large Business of the Year award. Along with seven other employees, including Stuart Marsland, Laurence Barrass, Ryan Futter, Claire Greives, Charlie Mason, Mark Wagstaff, Stuart Wall and Sarah Crookes, they took to the stage to receive the award!

APSS has committed over 18 years to improve the working efficiency and aesthetical value of business’ nationwide.
