A full fit out was carried out on an 8,000 sq ft former service garage to transform it into a new Automotive Academy for education provider Remit Group.
It includes interactive classroom space, fully-fitted workshops with industry-standard tooling and equipment and dedicated break out areas – all designed by APSS.
The building design incorporates vibrant colours across the spectrum to help stimulate productivity in addition to floor to ceiling graphics focusing on heavy-duty vehicles.
The upstairs classrooms are divided by glass partitions for maximum natural light. The rooms overlook the workshop so that during classroom-based learning, they can visualise what they learn and see how it can best be put into practice.
These partitions have been specifically designed to include a large band of engine manifestations to allow for clear visibility across the classrooms for teachers, but at the same time restricting the view of students sat at the desks to avoid unnecessary distractions.
The canteen also looks out into the workshop with newly installed windows helping to boost natural light in a centrally located room.
Works also included some external building alterations to providing a more inviting look and create a more enjoyable place of education.
