The Brief
LEW Electrical Distributors required a new head office after outgrowing its existing space. They wanted a new open plan office to provide a collaborative working environment that didn’t feel like a call centre. They required more individual offices and meeting rooms as well as break out areas and a large canteen to create a better working environment for its staff that would provide for future requirements as well.
The Challenge
The site was primarily a warehouse that required converting into a two-storey office space. There was an existing mezzanine which needed to be extended. APSS had to ensure it was designed to suit the original foundations.
In addition, there was an existing underfloor heating system which meant traditional fixings couldn’t be used and alternative solutions were sought to ensure it remained in full working order.
The Outcome
LEW Electrical Distributors now have a fully operational head office with a calming design where staff can work efficiently through collaboration, have space for more private meetings and allow the whole team to unwind in several breakout areas.
